Acceleration of heart; dilation of blood vessels to increase blood flow
Dilate bronchi to increase breathing in lungs
Inhibit secretion and movement in esophagus
Divert blood in the stomach
Retains bile in liver
Releases blood sugar in the pancreas
Inhibit secretion in the intestines
Inhibition, retention of feces and urine [Rectum, Kidney, Bladder functions]
Constrict; skin becomes cold and clammy [Skin and blood vessels]
Stimulated to increase perspiration [Sweat glands]
Tensed to make hair stand on end [Hair follicles]
PARASYMPATHETIC
Pupil of eyes Constrict to diminish light
Stimulate secretion [Tear glands, Mucous membrane of nose and throat, Salivary glands]
Slowing of heart; constriction of blood vessels
Constrict bronchi of windpipe to relax breathing in lungs
Stimulate secretion and movement in esophagus
